Toys-R-Us

Mimi and Papa took Blake on a trip to Toys-R-Us. Looks like Blake found a couple things to take home.

Pumpkin and Apple Picking

Mimi and Papa took care of Blake so I could attend the 2nd annual "Girls Spa Weekend" in NH. They kept Blake busy pumpkin and apple picking.

Apple Pancakes

Last week the G Family went apple picking. They invited us over bright and early the next morning for some apple pancakes. Delicious. Thanks guys!!

Pier

After soccer class today we went to the Pier with Blake's friends and ate dinner outside. What a gorgeous September night!

Cheerios

Apparently Douglas loves Cheerios. Who knew?

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

We took Blake to his first Met's game yesterday. It started at four, but Blake decided not to nap that day and we got lost in Queens beforehand. I was a little nervous.

Blake thought it was all pretty interesting. He especially liked the seventh inning stretch, but refused to stand up to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".

Circle Line Cruise

Blake had been spotting the Statue of Liberty in books and store windows lately. I thought it would be fun to go check her out in person.We took the Circle Line cruise. We were packed in like sardines and surrounded by tourists.

An interesting store opened around the corner from us. You never know what you will find outside. This might look nice in our apartment.

First Day of School

Today was Blake's first day of his toddler program. He will be going two mornings a week for two hours. He was so excited to start and had a wonderful first day. Parents stay in the classroom for the first few times..... but that will change next week!

Mess Lab

We sampled a class called "Mess Lab". It was a combination of science and art. Today the theme was magnets. The kids played with magnets in a bin of barley, painted with the magnets, and then played with the magnets while building with blocks. Blake loved it!

US Open

We went to the US Open last night to see the women's finals. There was a beautiful tribute to the victims of 9 11. Chaka Khan sang America the Beautiful.

John's company was a sponsor, so we had great seats with fabulous food in a suite!

On Labor day we met Uncle Chris for brunch at a restaurant that had a dog theme.

Blake's favorite part was riding the crosstown bus to the eastside.

Diving board

Blake loves the diving board at Mimi and Papa's house. He thinks it is hilarious whenever anyone jumps off. Tonight his baby was doing all sorts of tricks off the "soap dish" diving board.

Brilliant

Last week at Mimi and Papa's pool, John had a "brilliant" idea to make a water slide. Blake had so much fun. He even went down all by himself one time!
John had to try it out. I think Blake is wondering, "why is Daddy grabbing his nose like that?"

Goodbye Beach... See You Next Year!

We were so lucky to have such a beautiful weekend on the Jersey Shore. We spent both days on the beach.
