Archaeologist

We met friends Reid and Allie at the museum on Thursday. We spent most of our time in the Discovery room, targeted for young children. There were lots of neat things to touch!
His favorite activity was digging for dinosaur bones with special tools.
There were loose bones that the kids were supposed to put in place on the dinosaur.

Now that the summer is coming to an end, Blake has decided to tolerate baseball hats for short periods of time.

Potato and Corn Festival

While in Connecticut we went to the Corn and Potato Festival in a nearby town. It was huge and lots of fun.
Brooke enjoyed her corn.

Connecticut

We spent the weekend at Julie, Derek, and Brooke's beautiful new place in Connecticut.Sunset from their back porch.
We were so lucky to be with Brooke again on her actual birthday. We are sad to miss her big birthday party at the end of the month.
Faithful Blake Blog follower Kate stayed over as well. Play-doh time with Kate and Daisy the dog is always fun. Safe travels to Africa Kate!

Brooke showed Blake the boats.
The water was great because it was so calm and shallow. Blake was able to walk all the way out to the raft. He loved jumping off.

Clam Chow-dah

Mimi made Blake some clam chowder to eat poolside. He has never had any kind of seafood before. He ate the entire bowl within seconds.

He ended up just eating it from the pot.

Swan Boats with the R Family

We made a quick stop in Boston on the way home from the Cape to see my friend Elynn and her four girls. Elynn and her family live in California but are headed to Germany for two years at the end of August.
Blake loved the swan boat and enjoyed hanging out with the girls.

Cape Cod

We went to Cape Cod for a few days with Charlie, Loreta, and Will.

John was in his glory because the cottage had a grill. He grilled up some lobsters, swordfish, and scallop kabobs.

There was this great playground right on the beach.
This beach cave tunnel was a hit!
