Frogs

The other morning we went to check out the Frogs exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. Blake enjoyed it much more than I had expected.
He stopped to check out all the different frogs in their tanks. He liked the brightly colored ones and especially liked it when they jumped.
Checking out a movie about frogs with buddy Caleb.

Making Cookies

On Wednesday our friends Marci and William had us all (seven toddlers and their moms) over to bake and decorate holiday cookies.

It was messy and a bit chaotic, but we had fun. Thank you Marci and William!

Santa Who?

A good word search will make anyone forget about Santa.
Summer rolls rock.
Gotta love meat on a bone.

John teaching Blake manners again.
I hope he doesn't do this on his first date.

Ho Ho Ho turns into No No No

We were so excited when we found out Santa Claus would be at the craft fair at the church where Blake was baptized. Blake has been so excited about Santa. Every time he sees him in a store window or in a book he says "ho ho ho!" As soon as he saw him he flipped. This is as close as we got. We did have fun hanging with the G family and checking out all the crafts.

Decorate

A lesson in tree decorating.
I purchased a Black Dog ornament while on the Vineyard this fall. Blake wouldn't let us put it on the tree. He insisted on holding it the entire night.
Still holding the dog even while reading books before bed. I wonder if he will be able to find it on the tree in the morning?

Football

It was so nice last weekend we went to the park.  John and Blake played some football.
Hike!

We checked out turtle pond.  All the turtles were gone for the winter, but we did see some ducks!

Getting Ready

We still haven't decorated our tree.  Blake loves having it in the apartment.  He keeps picking up the needles off the floor and saying "tree! tree!"
I've been slowly taking the decorations out of the closet.  His favorite so far has been the lights second to the santa hat.

Tree

Tonight after dinner we went to pick out our Christmas tree.
So many to choose from.
We decided on this one.  John thought it would be a great idea to get a 10 foot tree this year.
Taking a break while walking home!

Thanksgiving

We headed to New Jersey to celebrate Thanksgiving with Nonna and Nonno.

Blake loved the turkey.  I think he had three helpings.

Parade Time

For the first time since moving to NYC, we stayed in town to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade.
Blake enjoyed it much more than I thought he would.  He didn't take his eyes off the parade the entire time.
We were on the corner of 81st and Central Park West.  This is where some of the balloons fed into the parade.  The parade actually started on 77th street, so we missed some of the entertainment, but had a great view!
My favorite part was seeing Kevin Bacon walking his dog.
John recognized the cop on the block as someone he went to Boy Scout camp with!
We took turns giving Blake the best view.
Jimmy Fallon
Glued.
Blake kept "talking" about the parade after we left.  "Mickey!" and "ho ho ho!" were definitely his favorites.

Balloon Blowup

Today we were able to watch the balloons being blown up for the Thanksgiving Day parade right outside of our apartment.  Here they are late morning getting started on the Pillsbury Doughboy.
Blake checking out Santa's feet.
Buzz
Mickey leading the pack.
Blake was most excited to get his very own balloon.

Checking out the new Apple store on the UWS this weekend.  He was almost as excited as his father.

Connor Visits

Connor and his parents came over last night.  We have been trying to get together for the longest time.
The boys had fun playing together.
They took a bath and went to bed.  We were able to order sushi and have some wine.  Connor seemed to transition well when it was time to leave.  Hopefully he went right back to sleep when he got to the east side!

Sand and Books

Blake and Caleb played at the park until dark last night.  It was such a beautiful night.
Then we went home and the boys read some books.  Looks like they are studying for final exams.
